I’m a reporter at Minnesota Public Radio. Will these files also be posted online? If so, at what time? Thank you,

How can you prevent the BSA from maliciously putting names in this file of people they simply didn’t like for political reasons? Shouldn’t the names be vetted before being released?

Why don’t the files on your site include Dr. Thomas Kowalski, the Milwaukee pediatrician who confessed to molesting boys at a scout camp, and Gerald Kummer, and other Wisconsin scouting perp? Their cases are referenced in the news today here: and that article has links to their scouting files, which are stored on some site called documentcloud.

The Kowalski file is dated 1987, which is outside of the date range of these files. These files were within a specific date range and were subpenaed & used in a specific case. They were allowed to be released to the public by the Judge in that case. They aren’t supposed to be fully inclusive. They are supposed to be what the national BSA knew about during the given period of time (1965-1985).

There could be other cases, covering different time periods, that have subpenaed and used some of these files. They also may have a court order to release them to the public. I have no knowledge of that being accurate, but it is definitely a possibility.

I would also like to know if these files will be relaeased online. My father was a scout master for about 10 years or so and I really need some closure.
